{Our Visitor}

My Uncle called me on my cell phone and asked me to meet him out back. I thought it was odd but went out. He was standing next to his pickup and asked me if I would grab his gloves from the driver's side. I got them, thinking this was an odd request when he was right there. Gave the gloves to him, asking him "Seriously, that's why you called me on my cell phone?" Still puzzled I looked down at his feet and guess what I saw....this little guy trying to squirm away. Clay put on his gloves and picked him up, by this time the snake was so aggravated and had his mouth wide open, ready to strike at the nearest thing - which by the way, was his own body - which he proceeded to bite. I, of course, ran in and got my camera...by the time I got my camera the snake had settled down, he was quite curious of the lens. Enjoy!

{WEEK 10}

Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.

He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.

If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.

In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

I am still nauseous off and on and it seems to hit me most when I am in the grocery store - especially Wal-Mart. I am thinking it's because there are too many smells and too many people with perfume on. I just wish this nausea thing would either be with me always or not at all...I am hating the not knowing when it will strike mode I seem to be in now.

{Miniatures & Terrain}

We got back from our mini vacation and to help me to relax from the long drive I painted a few miniatures. I used William's terrain that he made before we left as a backdrop for the miniatures.

Enjoy! (btw images will be coming soon of our vacation...promise)

{Pool Fun}

We were invited to a mommy & me pool party for the ladies in our ward. It was soo much fun. The kids had a blast and so did I! We got wet and had lunch and just enjoyed the sun and the cool water. I even got in the water (my bathing suit still fits!).

I took my uncle's point 'n shoot with me and wish I had brought my good camera because I just didn't get hardly any sharp/in focus images with it. The reason behind not bringing mine was because I didn't want it to get wet - the point 'n shoot didn't matter.

Anywho, hope you enjoy, we had tons of fun and I got to meet some nice ladies from the ward.

{Week 8}

New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.

Lets see, I can no longer wear my jeans (haven't been able to wear them for a few weeks now), jean shorts (which had a bit more give so I got to wear them longer) or my "yoga" pants, not to mention any of my skirts! All because the waist bands don't stretch enough! I only have 2 pairs of pants I can wear and those were too big for me. I am nauseous off and on (but only threw up once) and I am tired more then normal (I have started taking naps during the day to keep up my energy). I haven't gained any weight, just got a growing tummy & boobs.

You know what? I wouldn't trade any of it! I am really enjoying this pregnancy, with the exception of the nausea.
