{July Vacation}

We had a great visit with William's dad up in Northern Idaho...it was sooo green and even thought it did get up into the 90's it really didn't feel like 90 degrees! We had such a great time and hope to do it again really soon. It was so beautiful, peaceful and just plain lovely.

All the kids helped Grandpa mow the lawn, move rocks and just have a great time!

Grandpa took the kids for a spin around the yard, the whole time the kids were yelling "faster, faster Grandpa". The kids & Grandpa had the best time.

The kids, with the help of their dad, got to shoot their first gun. I even got to shoot it too. There was virtually no kick back. The kids liked it so much, William told them that he would make sure they took a gun safety course and then they could go hunting sometime. They were so excited about that.

A doe came up just feet from the livingroom windows. The kids were just so fascinated. It really was a calming and relaxing trip. It was so nice to get to spend time with Curt & Jane and just enjoy the calm of his place. We can't wait to do it again!

{Our Visitor}

My Uncle called me on my cell phone and asked me to meet him out back. I thought it was odd but went out. He was standing next to his pickup and asked me if I would grab his gloves from the driver's side. I got them, thinking this was an odd request when he was right there. Gave the gloves to him, asking him "Seriously, that's why you called me on my cell phone?" Still puzzled I looked down at his feet and guess what I saw....this little guy trying to squirm away. Clay put on his gloves and picked him up, by this time the snake was so aggravated and had his mouth wide open, ready to strike at the nearest thing - which by the way, was his own body - which he proceeded to bite. I, of course, ran in and got my camera...by the time I got my camera the snake had settled down, he was quite curious of the lens. Enjoy!

{WEEK 10}

Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.

He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.

If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.

In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

I am still nauseous off and on and it seems to hit me most when I am in the grocery store - especially Wal-Mart. I am thinking it's because there are too many smells and too many people with perfume on. I just wish this nausea thing would either be with me always or not at all...I am hating the not knowing when it will strike mode I seem to be in now.

{Miniatures & Terrain}

We got back from our mini vacation and to help me to relax from the long drive I painted a few miniatures. I used William's terrain that he made before we left as a backdrop for the miniatures.

Enjoy! (btw images will be coming soon of our vacation...promise)
