{A day in my life...}

Saturday: a day in my life

That's right a whole day in my life...well really just snippets of Saturday. Gary is back in Idaho and he came down with Dad and Kitty and we just had a blast!! The kids really enjoyed playing with their Uncle Gary!

Gary and Dad had some sword play with the kids, mostly the kids beat on Dad and scuffled with Gary. I think the guys were much more wore out then the kids...I love having my family come every week!!!!

Dad and Gary climbed up the BIG tree and Dad scared out the white barn owl that lives there...it was quite a site to see him swoop out of the branches - his wing span was so long. The kids thought it was cool.

After Gary and Dad wore out the kids and Clay got home we played some dungeons and dragons and just had fun. Life is good, soooo very goood!

Enjoy....picture heavy!

{Before School Started...}

That's right, this post shoulda been right before school started!! How lame am I? Anywho, I took these images at a Visit teaching Park outting that my companion and I had for our ladies and we met up with the gals who visit us too (that's right me and my companion both have the same people who visit us! How cool are we!!) I, of course, took pictures. Below is a little bit of everyone having a great time!

The kids searched out for bugs, played on the swings and just ran their little hearts out as they had fun with one another. My Sam sat next to his daddy until one of the gals put her little man on the swing and so he decided that he wanted to help swing the little one. My Aaron didn't start having fun until the boys his own age showed up and my Ruth just enjoyed playing with other girls! I had some great visit's with the gals and it was a great way to get to know them all a bit better. Enjoy!!

{Ruth's name & Teriyaki Chicken}

I know I wrote on my facebook about Ruth writing her name for the first time. you see we got her a dry erase book for letters and one for numbers that we found at Costco. LOVE THEM!!! and Ruth has been practicing like crazy in them.  I did take a picture of her first time writing her name but am just now getting around to posting it. (I have been feeling icky and hope you will forgive me for being so late in posting).

I found a great recipe for Teriyaki Chicken at Kara's Kitchen Creations alot of the recipes I am going to be trying out this next week are from her website. If you haven't seen her blog your missing out on some good easy recipes. Below is her recipe and let me tell you my husband LOVED it!! and he's not a big fan of most teriyaki sauces.

Teriyaki Chicken ( I made mine to go with some medium grain rice, 1 part rice to 2 parts water)

Ingredients:

1 Tbsp cornstarch
1 Tbsp water
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp pepper
12 chicken thighs with skin removed

Directions:

Whisk together all ingredients (except chicken of course), and cook in a saucepan over medium heat till thick and bubbly. Place chicken thighs in a greased 9x13" glass pan. Pour sauce evenly over the chicken. Bake at 400° for 45-60 minutes, turning chicken every 15 minutes.
