Today has been my big push to rearrange and make the apartment interesting to me again. I have been rearranging furniture for the better part of the morning and part of last night. I just wanted it to be different - since we are going to be staying here longer then we had planned. I wanted to make the apartment a bit more inviting for me. I mean it was fine before - but I want to rid myself of clutter and help my antenna get better reception (ya know so we can watch our tv shows in HD instead of just analog lol) and help so I could open more windows without fear of the kids falling thru the screens. Plus what's the fun in cleaning if you can't make a bigger mess then what was originally there...lol
Besides that we got a train table and needed to make room for it - because I wanted all the kids to be able to play with it and since the boys are constantly kicking Ruth out of their room. I already had to move her toys out to ensure no fights between her and the boys. They still fight but not over toys.
I actually got a lot done. I still have papers and toys that were under the furniture to pick up and then vacuum but I think it's looking rather good. I have it set up so the kids have their own little movie center and Ruth has her own area - It's looking pretty good if I do say so myself. Even William thinks so. He of course is tired but is ok with me moving the furniture around - changing things up a bit. I am even going to rearrange my walls of pictures. When we went over to William's brother's yesterday for a BBQ they gave us a cool painting that has awesome colors. I also want my walls to be more cohesive and not so random with images and because I moved things I have more wall space and need to fill em. You know how I hate bare walls. lol
Anywho I need to get finished and then get ready for my photo session this afternoon. Oh, and guess what! It's cooler today then it was yesterday - YEAH!! I swear I was melting something fierce yesterday. I hate the heat - I am happy when it's anywhere from 65-75 degrees if it's any hotter then I am just miserable. Although 80 degrees with a nice cool breeze is ok too. 95 degrees with no breeze and oober muggy is just miserable for me.
Well enough rambling from me. Hope you all have had a great weekend and are enjoying family and friends!

{Sam's Field Trip to the Zoo}
It was so cool to be able to go with Sam on his field trip to the zoo. It was rainy and cold but I think the kids had fun. They got to see tons of different and fun animals. The sea otters were play fighting (or real fighting), the polar bears were swimming and dancing and having a ball. The penguins were so fun to watch as they zipped thru the water and would stop to "feed" from the kids hands. The monkeys were very entertaining and would get close up to the glass to get a good look at the children. It really was a fun filled day - even if the weather didn't cooperate like we would have liked. Enjoy!

{Craigslist posting}
So I like to purues the FREE section on Craigslist.com because sometimes they have some nice stuff for free advertised on there. One post caught my eye entitled "2 fugly green sofa's". Of course I had to click on it and see what made them so fugly because I hadn't heard that word in a very long time. The couches really weren't too ugly and appeared to be in decent shape. It was the description that was very funny. Just thought I would share with you all. Enjoy a good chuckle!
I have two very fugly free sofas. They are my wife's first post-college furniture, and they're hideous. She bought them *NEW*. See the attached pictures. From what she tells me, that was the least offensive color and pattern available (which would've made me shop elsewhere, but getting back to the point...)
These sofas are guaranteed to be free of jizz, urine, and other bodily fluids (both human and animal). Well, maybe some baby puke once or twice over the years, but we did a good job cleaning it as it happened. I do let my 4 and 7 year old daughters play with the seat cushions when they want to play "fort" or "kitchen". This is the most use they've gotten in their entire lives.
Never smoked in or on, and they don't stink. Well, I've never noticed any smell and I'm fairly sensitive to odors, but I'll go on record that I don't make a habit out of sniffing sofas. Hey, I think I just invented a new fetish. sofasniffer.com isn't taken, BTW. Oh, no holes in the sofas or cushions, either.
Let me go in to detail about each:
The first is a hide-a-bed. It's a *PLAID* hide-a-bed. If you ever slept on this sofa, you wouldn't be able to get the thought that you were sleeping on a plaid hide-a-bed out of your mind and wouldn't be able to sleep. Plus, it's a really thin matress (also guaranteed bodily fluid free because no one ever was stupid enough to have slept on it), and not very comfortable. We managed to find several years' worth of old Ritz crackers, tons of cat hair, and other unmentionables when we cleaned it recently. It's also "firm", which by that I mean "hard". If you hit someone in the face with these cushions, they're going *DOWN*. We didn't do anything to it - I swear - it came from the factory this way! However, I strongly suspect that the hide-a-bed is really great thing for people who get a little too wasted at a party and fall asleep watching Yo Gabba! Gabba! You'll wake up with one hell of a backache but will at least avoid killing someone by avoiding driving.
The second is a "love seat". I use the word "love" in the way that a man "loves" a cheap hooker, only resorting to her when you are low on money. About the only person that this love seat would impress would be a cheap hooker, so maybe everyone wins. You cannot sit up in this love seat comfortably with one person, let alone two, or even if you're one person who is as wide as two.
These sofas have the visual aesthetics of Andy Warhol with the engineering of a Yugo. Not only did the designer fail miserably on appearance, he also failed horribly on functionality as well. And I know it's a "he", too. No woman would ever design something so hideous. It's the Roger Corman movie equivalent of sofa design, folks.
We had to get rid of my old knobby brown sofa that I loved (and she hated) back in ~2000, so I think it's high time I get rid of her fugly sofas. That, and I just bought her another nice living room set to pacify her.
I also should post some guidelines, here, about what "free" means. It means:
* I will not deliver.
* I will not help you carry them to your vehicle. They're heavy.
* I will not hold them for you
* It is "as is", as in "I'm not doing squat to them"
First come first served. Toy penguin not included. Email for pickup details.

{We got a CAR!!}
So we went car shopping today - I wasn't looking to find a car but we did. William picked it out - he told me it's my mother's day present - a great car! It's a 2003 Dodge caravan sport and has less then 70,000 miles on it, has a dvd player (love this feature - keeps the kids from fighting with one another - I actually had a peaceful car ride to the store!), CD player and a remote to unlock the doors - not open them but unlock them. AND....it's BLUE! Not a sissy blue but a nice deep blue. I really like the color! I usually don't care about the color but this is such a pretty blue - my images don't do it justice. William really likes the car too. We now have a car payment - but like William said it's better to have a really good vehicle that won't break down soon then to have a car that will crap out on us in a few years. Plus it will help build our credit! so when we go to buy a house we will be in good shape. Gotta love that.

{P.S. I love you}
If you haven't seen "P.S. I love you" yet - YOU SHOULD! But be sure to keep a box (or two) of Kleenex on hand. I laughed and cried (alot cried - my t-shirt is wet from all the tears). It really was what I needed right now. It was a good movie and I watched it alone - which is good because then William didn't make fun of me crying. It's defiantly a chick flick as hubby would say. It was a great movie about living life and making the most of it. It's going in my library for sure.
Rent it! You will see what I mean.
