{Week Six}
This is going to be a busy week for your amazing little embryo. Their brain is still growing remarkably fast; miniature hand plates are starting to develop and the early formations of what will be their fingers are already visible. Also, the lower limbs do not develop quite as fast, so they’re pretty much still flippers. Up until this point, your baby has been very curled up with the head and tail in close proximity, but this week their trunk and neck are beginning to grow and straighten as their tail recedes into its resting position in the back. Even though your little miracle is only 6 weeks old, they’re already capable of demonstrating reflex responses to touch!
So as you can see I am at the 6 week mark of the pregnancy. I have experienced some nausea but not alot. I am experiencing breast tenderness (ugh, it's the worst!), but overall it's going well. I just got back from my doctors visit and they took swabs and lots of blood. They won't do an ultra sound until the 18th week and then again at week 32.
I knew when I had conceived because that was the first night I had the twin dream...(I just got back from the hospital and had two baby girls in my arms) and I have been having this dream non-stop since. I wanted to get a vaginal ultrasound to see if I was carrying twins or if I was just having a crazy dream, but I guess I will just have to wait until the 18th week. ((sigh))
***Did I mention that when I got the blood test done to confirm the over the counter DOLLAR store pregnancy test that the nurse thought I could be carrying twins because of how early I tested and the levels of hormone? Did I also mention that when I tested I was only about 2 1/2 weeks along?***
We got back from our vacation early Saturday evening and have been just resting ever since. I will have pictures up soon...it's going to take a while as this week is super hectic with taking my dad in for surgery and kids doctor appointments. They will be set up soon I promise.

I didn't know you were pregnant. Congratulations! I hope it goes well for you!
ReplyDeleteThat would be amazing if you were pregnant with twins. (Better you than me...I never thought I'd be able to handle it.) You did test incredibly early. I'm excited for you and will look forward to updates!
