{Weight Gain...*sigh*}

I have fallen off the wagon so to speak and I am really ashamed of it. I have gained back 15 of those 25 pounds I lost! I have been so stressed out lately that I have begun to turn back to food for comfort and I am having trouble distracting myself from late night eating. (both are not good and I thought I had both under control but obviously not.) I am not working out like I did before either although, I am trying to get back into a routine, but it's soooo hard. I was avoiding my scale for the longest time and was so annoyed and frustrated with myself to find that all my hard work has gone down the drain!! This next month I am hoping to do better...

What do you do to keep yourself on the right track when you are trying to lose weight?

  1. It's tough. I think that having someone doing it with you is the easiest way to go. It help keeps one on track and motivated. Do you have someone like that Arya?

    Good luck and please don't be hard on yourself. You can get back on track.

  2. I've been getting together once a week with some women in my ward, all different shapes and ages, to watch the "Weigh Down at Home" videos...the woman is a little extreme in her convictions (she compares losing weight to leaving Egypt; lots of Bible stories, etc.) but her advice is spot on:

    -wait until you are hungry to eat
    -cut your regular portions in half
    -eat the food you really want (not the diet-y stuff); this allows you to feel more full and not obsess over depriving yourself

    I also read the book "Mindless Eating," which I would suggest if you're in the mood for a little read. But be proud of the progress you've made!

  3. I was just thinking about you yesterday and was thinking that you hadn't reported anything about your progress like you were doing before you moved.
    I'm starting to get into a regular excersize routine. I still need to do a blog about what I've been up too.
    Good luck with your goals!
