{Spring forward - blah!}

I miss my hour of sleep in the mornings. It always takes me months to get back into my morning routine after we "spring forward" our clocks an hour. Last week I woke up before my alarm (only by 5 minuets, but still...) and now I am rudely awoken by a screeching alarm & have to struggle to get the boys up to get ready.

What is the purpose of the "spring forward" any ways? If I remember my history right, (please correct me if I am wrong), it helped farmers long ago so they could have more daylight, but is it really necessary now? Does daylight savings time help you at all? The only time it helps me is when we "fall back" an hour but the "spring forward" is just plain ol' annoying!

Am I in the majority or the minority with this one?

  1. Isn't it weird that not every state participates either? How does that work. Arizona and Hawaii to name 2. Why the difference?

  2. I just read up on this and it was started in WWII to help conserve energy. I actually like the extra hour of daylight, but it takes me and the kids a good week to get into the swing of things! I wish they'd just leave it like this. I don't really get it either.
