I use bokeh (where the background becomes "become blurred or fuzzy"). It's all about aperture and distance to the background...I am sure there are things to do in post processing but I can never get the right effect.
The background in these are even more blurred because of the slight breeze blowing the plants behind the main focus...I hope this helps.
